IN THIS EPISODE WE DISCUSS:

Who is Ganesha

Ganesha is one of the two sons of Lord Shiva (the destruction operator of the universe) & Parvati (the gentle aspect of Maha Devi or Great Goddess, also known as Durga).
Ganesha represents humility, intellect, wisdom, discernement and has the ability to remove any and all obstacles from our lives.
He is also known by the name Vighnaharta or Vigneshwara
  • Vighna in Sanskrit means “hindrance”, “obstacle” or “impediment”.
  • Ganesha is the one who can overcome & defeat these vighnas in life.

Ganesha Consciousness in Ayurveda

One of the main sources of disease in Ayurveda is a substance called ama, which is formed by undigested food toxins (usually as a consequence of low digestive fire or agni).
  • Ama finds its way to whatever weakspot there is in the human physiology (each person has their own), and they create blockages that eventually turn into different ailments or diseases.
Our capacity to overcome these ama blockages in our body is greatly correlated to our connection with Ganesha and the consciousness state he embodies.
The intelligence of Lord Ganesha becomes the most predominant in the blood-brain link, because he is the one who removes the Kāṣṭhā (boundaries and obstructions) that cause suffering, before you access the higher dimensions and intelligences within your Self.
The 21 Herbs of Ganesha are a set of herbs that have a low G.I. (glycemic index), they strengthen the liver, help the lymph and are good for the skin.
  • Interestingly, elephants mostly eat low GI foods. They also need a strong liver capacity to be able to digest the copious amount of food they eat!
  • The leaves of these herbs are also used in Ganesh Patra Puja performed on Ganesh Chaturthi day.

Upāyas (Remedies / Practices) Which Enliven Ganesh Consciousness

Ganesh Sankashti Chaturthi a day dedicated to Lord Ganesha in every lunar month of the Hindu calendar.
It is a good day to fast and perform different types of tāpasya.
Eat only vegetarian/vegan food – the more sattvic (pure & wholesome), the better.
Chant Ganesha mantras or simply rest your awareness on Lord Ganesh.
